Precision for the cable-stayed bridge ‘Msikaba Bridge’

The Msikaba Bridge on the east coast of South Africa is one of the largest cable-stayed bridges on the continent – and our product MM1018 – The Liquid-Shim® plays a crucial role.

In our new video, we show how MM1018 overcame a technical challenge: During the assembly of the anchor blocks, welding work resulted in thermal stresses – with the result that the base plate deformed. The result: an inconspicuous gap that jeopardised the full-surface connection to the bearing plate.
